Q. What is an ingrown hair?
A. An ingrown hair is a benign condition where the hair either curls back into the skin or grows sideways into the skin of the hair follicle. The result is a small, oftentimes painful, tan, red, or pink bump under the skin. You may be able to see the underlying hair as a small, dark pinpoint. Common areas for ingrown hairs include the neck, face, underarms, legs, bikini area, and other frequent hair removal areas. Shaving, waxing, electrolysis, and other hair removal methods often exacerbate ingrown hairs.
Exception-All’s Ingrown Hair Treatment
can be used before and after hair removal to calm and treat ingrown hairs.
Beforehand, it conditions the skin, helping to prepare the skin for hair
removal. Afterward, it calms and soothes the skin. Exfoliation, hydration, and
calming oils work together to treat and prevent ingrown hairs.
Q. What are razor bumps?
A. Razor bumps are a
type of ingrown hair associated with shaving that affect men and women with
wiry, curly hair. After shaving, wiry, curly hair grows back, often curling
into itself and burrowing back into the skin and causing a painful, itchy bump
that may get infected. Many ingrown hair treatments contain alcohol, which may
help disinfect the area but causes problems of its own such as drying and
burning the skin. Our Ingrown Hair Treatment is loaded with calming oils that
soothe and hydrate.
Q. What is a razor burn?
A. Shaving with a razor can often lead to what’s known as a razor burn, an uncomfortable area of redness, stinging, and bumps. The razor blade scrapes across the skin, displacing it while twisting and pulling the hair follicle. The effect can be even worse when using a dull blade, when shaving on dry skin, or shaving against the direction of hair growth.
Applying Exception-All’s Ingrown Hair
Treatment can reduce the redness that appears after hair removal while also
calming and soothing the pain. Use Ingrown Hair Treatment before and after hair
removal to treat and prevent ingrown hairs, razor bumps and razor burn, and
uneven skin color.
